Canon’s new EOS 5D MK2 can do incredible things in professional hands. I can’t wait to see what it can do in the hands of the rest of us! Take a look at Vincent Laforet’s EOS demo film REVERIE. And if you’re curious check out THIS awesome video of how he made it. I’ve also stuck the making of video at the bottom of the first page of my blog. So you can just scroll down and view it. Enjoy!

TRANSMEDIA STAR WARS!

My pal Bonnie Burton interviewed me for Star Wars.Com. We talked about Transmedia Storytelling, Heroic Narrative, and my love of Star Wars: New Hope. Here’s a clip:
BONNIE: Lucasfilm seems to have embraced the concept of “transmedia” early on with the concept of the Expanded Universe of video games, card games, role-playing games, comics, and novels in addition to the movies.
JESSE: There was little information out there at the time, and obviously we didn’t have the Web yet, so trying to learn more about this world, this universe and this movie — to immerse ourselves in it — was very challenging in those early days. The feeling of wanting to be part of a mythology is something that has shaped the way I approach the work that I do — creating and fleshing out these media properties that I’ve been involved with to make sure that the fans can have an authentic, organic and immersive experience that allows them to enjoy shows like “Heroes” and “Lost” however and whenever they want to experience it.
JESSE: At that time I don’t think people really understood that type of approach, but Lucas did, as did the people that he had working with him at Lucasfilm. They got how to build a property that fans could enjoy in so many ways. It seemed like there was a real vision in how that was going to happen in those early days. What Lucas, and everyone else at Lucasfilm, has done in terms of transmedia exploitation of properties has set the benchmark for everyone who’s trying to do well in that space.

POST EMMY TRANSMEDIA INTERVIEW!
Just did an interview with ITV about HEROES TRANSMEDIA. It’s kind of fun! Or kind of blah-blah-blah depending on your point of view. We barely scratched the surface of what went into the buidling of the HEROES 360 EXPERIENCE. But it’s a good overview. The HEROES section kicks in at around 8 minutes:
HEROES ONLINE WINS EMMY!

Amazing news! At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards this past Saturday — HEROES ONLINE WON AN EMMY AWARD! It was a very big deal for all of us! Kudos to the entire team at NBC.COM for setting the standard by which all transmedia television content is judged!
And a very special nod to Mark Warshaw! He was the secret weapon of HEROES TRANSMEDIA. The man behind the Emmy nominated Heroes Online content of Season One, and now the Emmy Winning content of Season Two!
Take a look at the sizzle reel NBC submitted for Emmy Judging –
You can find more of Mark Warshaw (and myself) in this video content of our visit to MIT last year. I think you’ll need REAL PLAYER to enjoy the content.
